Experience
Brief background:
I have spent much of the past 30 years immersed in the study and practice of psychology, mental health, healing, and well-being. The past two years I have focused intently on the study of mindfulness and meditation and its use in psychotherapy.
I hold a clinical psychologist license in the state of Massachusetts (#9794), have been licensed since 2013, and have provided therapy services since 1998. My work focuses on treating a number of mental health concerns in adults and young adults. Additional certifications and affiliations include:
Previously, I have worked with the Center for Autism and Related Disorders in Northern Virginia; the George Mason University Psychological Clinic in Fairfax, VA; the Multicultural Health Center in Falls Church, VA; the American University Counseling Center in Washington, DC; the Suffolk University Counseling Center in Boston, MA; the Salem State University Counseling Center in Salem, MA; and the Boston Institute for Psychotherapy in Brookline, MA. My doctoral degree was earned at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.
Multicultural Experience:
Across my years of practice, most of my clients have come from backgrounds or situations with limited access to resources and/or stable incomes. A great portion of these clients are either children to individuals that immigrated into the U.S., or have themselves immigrated into the U.S. As such, I have worked with clients from many ethnic backgrounds (self-identified as Egyptian, African American, Cape Verdean American, Jordanian, Chinese American, Japanese American, Guatemalan, Haitian, Haitian American, Korean American, Hawaiian, Salvadorian, Bolivian, Guatemalan, Mexican, Brazilian, and multiethnic).
Completed Training for Current Continuing Education Cycle:
4/2021 - Suicide Prevention, Assessment, and Intervention
7/2021 - Racial Trauma: Assessment and Treatment Techniques for Trauma Rooted in Racism
8/2021 - Emotion Dysregulation Disorders

2/2023 - Rumination-Focused Exposure Response Prevention for Obsessive Compulsive Disorders
